13WHAM/FOX GOOD DAY ROCHESTER - Fringe Festival preps for 54 JCC shows

The Jewish Community Center will host 54 of Rochester Fringe Festival’s more than 600 performances.

JCC artistic director and associate executive director Ralph Meranto joins ARC Rochester on Day 2 of the Rochester Fringe Festival to promote those shows.

“We had great crowds [on Day One], including Moses Man, an original musical that started right here in Rochester,” Meranto says.

Performers from Duo Capriccioso also join ARC Rochester to promote their show “Latin Tones.”

“We perform classical music,” violin player Raúl Munguía says, “but we [have] a Latino program.”

Jazz singer Connie Fredericks-Malone gives us a preview of her show too, performing the classic ballad “Beyond the Sea.”

“[Music] is the language that touches our hearts and souls,” Fredericks-Malone says. “The brain has a funny way of holding onto things with music.”

Both shows are at the JCC’s CenterStage Theatre.
